Which one do you need?
The difference between them is not the mathematics — it is what your school counts. A class graded out of points is added up; a class with a syllabus that says "tests 50 %" is averaged by weight; a transcript is averaged by credits. Pick the one that matches the paper you were given.

Grade points, percentages and letters
A percentage is what you scored in one class. A letter is that percentage put into a band — 93 and above is an A at most American schools, 90 to 92 an A−. Grade points are the letter turned into a number on the 4.0 scale, and a GPA is those numbers averaged over credits rather than over classes, which is why a four-credit B pulls harder than a one-credit A.
Those bands and points are the common American ones, and they are the ones these pages use. Your school may cut an A− at 91, count an A+ as 4.3, or give an AP class a full extra point rather than half of one. Where a page has a choice to make, it is a box you can change rather than a rule baked in.
Questions and answers
Are these calculators free?
Yes, all six, with no account and no limit. They run in your browser, so there is nothing for us to charge for and no bill on our side to pass on.
Do you keep what I type?
Not unless you ask. The tables stay in your own browser's storage so that you can come back to them, and clearing your browser's site data removes them. The one thing that reaches us is what you send with the share button, and that goes on a page anyone with the link can read.
Will this match what my school shows?
It matches the standard American 4.0 scale and the usual percentage bands. Schools do differ — some count A+ as 4.3, some weight AP by a full point — so check your handbook and change the figures the page lets you change.
